Squinting at it a bit (because I'm a cynic, not to get a better view), it looks to me like the guy's a bit more in the foreground than the deer. I mean you gotta figure there's *something* going on there, since a deer would hardly just stand around. But look at his feet compared to where the deer's hooves are.

Or maybe it's just my perception.

I'm inclined to agree--it looks like he'd have to be picking the deer up or something. I suppose if the grass is tall and tan, the deer's feet might be lost to photo artifact, but...yeah, I dunno.
