It's not; at least for mine, the case is plastic not metal. However, the flash drive does detach to shorten the plugged-in stuff when necessary.

-- Steve thinks they maxxed the geek factor, and notes that they missed displaying the ball-point pen and LED flashlight options. So there. Neener-neener.

the detaching thing is good.. the plastic construction bugs me. I used to have this Cold Steel folding Tanto... the balde was tough as heck (cut a tin can with it), but.. the handle was plastic and the clip broke, rather easily...

On traditional victorinoxes, the constuction is all stainless steel with the red sides in plastic clicked on. Works perfectly fine without the decorative red sides, though. This one looks like it's one of the aluminum-sides ones.

The only problem I see with it is that in my experience geeks prefer Lethermans and Gerbers, more serious multitools.
