US government plans further tax cuts - removing food stamps, health care, and reduced-price school lunches for poor children to pay for the cuts to the taxes that the rich pay.

(Incidentally: These cuts will mean that for 300,000 Americans, going *on* welfare will mean they get to eat. Holding a minimum wage job will mean they're not eligible for food stamps and not able to afford food *and* housing at the same time.)

This is already true for a distressing number of people. It's been awhile since I looked at the numbers; they're too depressing.

"Such issues have created deep divisions between the conservatives pushing the cuts and Republican moderates, who fear the measure is going too far."

So at least it's not a complete loss and gimmie.. yet...

the thing that sucks abotu many of these cuts is that it really hurts the ones who are trying to go out and get jobs, because all of a sudden they make too much to get assistance, but not enough to live comfortably. it only encourages people to sit back and take MORE gov handouts...

That's why satire just doesn't pack the punch it used to.

Good. This is all good. Eventually the Republicans will push too far, too hard, and America will break. And out will pour Revolution . . again. -Ry
