One of my professors at the Information School asked me if I really thought that people could believe two or more contradictory things at once. My response: "Duh."
That's the thing about being Pagan: you spend a lot of time experimenting with irrational thought processes. I do it as a way of checking and retraining my intuition, because my life tends to go better when my intuitive responses to things are correct. But it's like paying especial attention to anything: you start to notice it everywhere.
Let me just say that my tree-hugging, crystal-wearing, fluffy-bunny compatriots do not have a monopoly on irrationality.
