Breed them strong enough to wear powerarmor and you can wear powerarmor, and carry some massive weaponry, with enhanced mobility and senses. Eventually shielding and better triply redundant power sources.
I didn't finish reading that, I'll do it tomorrow, but I got to where the original author makes his point, and gods damnit, he's right.
