From the first:
But he cautioned that it remains to be determined if buckyballs even penetrate cell membranes, and if they do, whether they would penetrate the cell nucleus, where the DNA resides.
Pretty unlikely, in this chemist's estimation. I can see it binding to DNA, since it is likely a very good hydrogen-bond receptor (one of the bits needed to make the double-helix in DNA), but it's so large in comparison to a typical drug, it's hard to see how it even could get in.
Also,
Cummings also notes that at present only a few grams of buckyballs are produced in the world every year, and that to err on the cautious side scientists treat them like toxic material.
Well, more likely because it's more than $300 or $400/gram (compare gold at about $20/gram), so scientists treat it carefully because it's bloody expensive.

I guessed wrong on the second item. :(

-- Steve still equates "scarf" to "Doctor Who", and Brits did invent the term "barmy" didn't they?

The part i find funny about the second (and i guessed right) is that the Japanese are notorious for bad taste.. especialy when it comes to colour coordination. I'm surprised the default setting is a "tasteful match."

You get exactly one guess about where they invented that second one.

Umm...Timbuktu?
