Denmark joins US in condoning, refusing to punish abuse of prisoners.

Of course, unlike the USA, the Danes don't appear to have crossed over into condoning life-threatening torture, rape, and murder.

Republican with the nickname "Turkey Baster Bob" attempts to ban in vitro fertilisation of unmarried women in Virginia. Read the article. It's priceless.
On the off chance that Marshall is truly targeting single motherhood, not just homosexuality, he should introduce a bill outlawing divorce, and a companion piece mandating IUDs for all females over 12.

Sure, studies show children are better off raised by two parents. They’re also better off eating all their veggies and being born to adults in higher income brackets.

Republican with the nickname "Turkey Baster Bob" attempts to ban in vitro fertilisation of unmarried women in Massachusetts.

Correction: "Turkey Baster Bob" is in Virginia, not Massachusetts. That such legislation should be proposed in Virginia should surprise no-one.

I'm very much in favor of a gene bank, which is essentially what Norway's up to there. Good on 'em.

It's a shame they're focusing on food crops, but that's a good place to start.

I hope they find some way to preserve the polinators and any bacteria required for soil fertilization though...

I really don't know what you know about ECT, but it seems like it's very little.

Both current and voltage has been lessened significantly since the most popular misconceptions started, and patients are under anesthesia including muscle relaxants (except for one arm that's convulsing, unless the ECT apparatus comes with an EEG reader). There really is no damage done. Studies have even shown that the neurons that die from depression grow back from it. If you had seen the incredible change it does, you wouldn't be so flippant.
