Is it a bad sign or a good sign that I want to actually answer some of those questions from the first link?
Why does jello have a smell when you add the powder in the water, but when it "gels" the scent virtually disappears?
Because the smell of any substance is airborne molecules of that substance, and when the gel sets, it traps those molecules so they can no longer become airborne and reach your nose.
Whats a question with no answer called?

Yes, it will make such a positive difference if he is involved in a gang to deny him an education and make sure he has more time to spend with the gang members. Brilliant.

Not only that.

They expelled him for writing HIS INITIALS on the inside cover of HIS NOTEBOOK.

They expelled him for WRITING HIS NAME IN HIS BOOK.

The article says:

The Chicago Tribune reported board officials said a doodle of a crown, a cross and a spider web with the initials "D.L.K." in the middle was a symbol of a street gang.

It's not like he *just* wrote his initials and got expelled. The crown, cross, and web sound like common Chicago gang symbology (I'd have to see the actual picture to be sure).

Not that I think that expulsion is an appropriate reaction to a kid drawing gang symbols (or things that look like gang symbols) in his notebook. It's just as likely he saw some grafitti, thought it looked "cool," and imitated it.

Here is a more thorough article, which makes it clearer that the crown (well-known symbol of the Latin Kings, a major Chicago gang) is the main thing, not the initials.

The Chicago Tribune reported board officials said a doodle of a crown, a cross and a spider web with the initials "D.L.K." in the middle was a symbol of a street gang. The youth's full name is Derek Leon Kelly.

The Latin Kings and the Latin Disciples are rival street gangs. The teen, who has a troubled academic career...

His name or initials, I'd say okay, but the gang symbols too? What was his intent particularly since he's apparently caught doing other stuff before - why draw attention to himself when he's under double secret probation?
