From the fifth installment (it's going to take forever to read through these, but they're worth it):

[...] Can you imagine Noah's story saying: "And the Lord came unto Noah and said: behold I send a Flood to destroy the wicked, but since they liveth only in this region, thou art commanded to packeth thy belongings and thy family and walk about, say, four or five hundred leagues that way". Not nearly as exciting if you put it that way.
Heh. That sounds uncannily like Pratchett to me (think Small Gods).
