You can see the convention center (only this time the view is from the right as seen in your photo) with the distinctive building-with-fram behind it. You can also see the same black structure with light corners in the proper place. I think the huge structure to the rear (which kinda looks like the Sears Tower, which is probably what threw yuo off) is the I.M.Pei Bank odf China building.
I've never been there, but I've seen a lot of photos of Hong Kong. It was the hills in the background of your photo that tipped me off.
I believe you are right. I didn't even see the hills.
I couldn't figure out the angle - that building in the back looks kinda like the Sears Tower, but we'd have to be WAY south of the city for the Sears Tower to be that close to the water, and I'd expect more tall buildings around it.
