Obviously the Ibis is cheating - he brought a duck to back him up.

Where did you get this?

I think the duck is just waiting for the battle to end, then he'll swoop in and finish off the weakened winner. Lousy ducks...

Don't know, I found the pictures in a random community in Russian. (http://community.livejournal.com/fauna_ru/22798.html#cutid1)

Given the scars on the hippo, it looks like a regular occurence.

They're playing, but when the players are a mature male antelope and a one ton hippo, play could get serious... That hippo seems small and the lack of teeth worrisome but as for the scratches, they're less than inconsequential. I'm not familiar enough with hippos to know whether the nyala is running the risk of getting his neck or a leg snapped. Maybe as long as the hippo's tusks are short/nonexistent he'll be ok. One can hope.

could be a pygmy hippo. they're quite a bit smaller than your standard pachyderm.

I'd be in a fighting mood too, if they took all my teeth.

I was curious about that.
Did they only let it out to play after they defanged it?

First one looks like something out of an Ursula Vernon cartoon, albeit not with the best layout.

Third one *rules*.

Yeah, I'm amazed someone didn't write 'bitch, please' on the third one.

I don't know

It's a good thing for that nyala that the hippo has no teeth, or it looks like it would be a *very* short fight.
