Suddenly my respect for Henry Rollins is renewed. What a strange feeling!

Renewed? Dude, Henry is awesome. From Black Flag, to oddball character actor, to Rollins Band, to just generally being himself, which I find generally amusing. Even when Henry sold out, he knew what he was doing and sneered the whole way through, laughing to himself. Man, I wanna be like Henry when I fail to grow up!

He's a self parody on purpose, and with a purpose. Look at Jello Biafra, for a counter-example of how not to get older. He's fucking insane (and yet, still fun to watch, but like a train wreck in slow motion) and doesn't realize it.

I love Henry Rollins. Hate his music - I can't stand any of it, really - but Rollins himself is pure awesomeness.
