Texas House Candidate admits to former job as a prostitute. This is oddly appropriate, and indicates experience with the primary purpose of American politicians.

Also,
DNA evidence disproves Mormonism. I think I've linked this before, but it's still good.
For those outside the faith, the depth of the church's dilemma can be explained this way: Imagine if DNA evidence revealed that the Pilgrims didn't sail from Europe to escape religious persecution but rather were part of a migration from Iceland — and that U.S. history books were wrong.
Snark requires me to point out that:
#1: US History books are not DIVINE TRVTH and held to be inerrant in the way that Mormons hold their book and
#2: The Puritans weren't looking to "escape religious persecution". They were looking for a place where *they could be the ones doing the persecution*. Any history book that fails to mention that is not doing it's job in the first place.

Also,
Florida gym teacher arrested, charged, fired after collecting money from students to ignore them skipping his gym class.

Also,
Florida girl's science project reveals that in Florida, fast-food places' toilets often have less bacteria than their ice cubes.
Of course, this isn't good health science, but it's funny as hell.

Spoken like someone who hasn't read any James Loewen.

Then no history book I've read below, at least, the college level is doing its job.

I always tell people, the reason why America is so f'd up and backwards is because we are a country founded by people who had to leave europe because their religious views were too fundimentalist...

"Too boring to be British" was the way I'd heard that phrased.

Dude, you're pissing me off today. It's a little rich of you to accuse every American politician in sight of dishonesty and obfuscation while in the meantime you're applying spin like a fucking dreidel.

The Puritans are hardly my favorite bunch of people, but they most certainly were persecuted. Quit rewriting history to suit your own purposes.

I never said they weren't persecuted.

I said they didn't want persecution to stop. They just wanted to be on the giving end instead of receiving it.

(And not "every American politician in sight". Just most of the ones making news. The guy with the prostitution past - man, that's just pure HUMOUR, and the jokes write themselves. You can't NOT make whoring comments about that.)
