Feb. 19th, 2006 12:06 pmJesus' General asks why it is that, if Cheney's telling the truth about how he shot the 78-year-old man in the face, why is is that more than 200 BBs of the 272 in the shell hit an 18-inch area, at 30 yards, hard enough to penetrate all the way to the victim's heart.
I recall the standard spread of shotgun pellets for 00 Buckshot was given once as 1 inch per yard travelled - so at 10 yards, they'll hit in a circle 10 inches wide. That would mean that Cheney was about half the distance he claimed to have been, at least. This stuff is much smaller than 00, which I also recall should make it spread more in the same distance, meaning he was even closer.
Combine this with the failure to notify the authorities, the already-proven lies about drinking, the "confused" stories, and the huge blame-the-victim campaign that Cheney ran with from the start, and you've got the beginnings of a pretty good theory, here.
EDIT:
scixual brings me joy, with a video of a man conducting a ballistics test to prove that Cheney is lying about the distance from the target.
Also,
Nurse in Alburquerque investigated for "sedition" after writing letter to the editor of local newspaper expressing unhappiness with US government and desire for change of policy direction.
Yeah. Disagreeing with the government in the US gets you investigated on CRIMINAL SEDITION CHARGES, your computer confiscated, and may cost you your job.

Date: 2006-02-20 05:45 pm (UTC)If Cheney meant it, he would have thrown the guy into a shark tank and stood watching while petting a white cat.

Date: 2006-02-21 10:20 am (UTC)Which leads to the delicious thought that, had the police been allowed to conduct a proper investigation, you know the sort one might expect when someone is severely injured by a gunshot to the face, it would have become a non-issue. Someone would have measured the distance, written it down as 10 yards along with a note about witness psychology and that would have been that. But instead, entirely thanks to Cheney's own behaviour, we have a conspiracy theory that will run and run. Karma.
