Last year I bought this photography book as a gift for my cousins in Turkey. It arrived shrink-wrapped. I put it in my suitcase and headed to Chicago for the NY Social; I was going to fly to Turkey out of O'Hare. When I opened my suitcase in O'Hare I discovered that it had been picked for a random search. (This happens to me very randomly about once in every three flights.) The fun thing this time? They had opened the shrink-wrap of the book, and stuck the "Your bag has been searched for your safety" notice in like a bookmark.

[livejournal.com profile] scifantasy theorized that since the book cover has no names or blurb text or anything except a single word in obviously a "foreign" language---happens to be Lakotan---they must have been curious.
