BTW, I personally think that GW should be taken out to the woodshed - but to simply believe someone's word because it makes GW even more of a villian - that's as gullible as those who are supporting him.
You are mistaking my cynicism for gullibility. It doesn't MATTER if Libby is lying or not. Not in any practical sense.
I do derive a bit of schadenfreud-y amusement at Libby's attempt to throw Cheney & W under the bus, 'cause no matter how you slice it, at least one of them is a lying dirtbag, but the truth-value of Libby's statements are pretty much irrelevant.
While that statement is strictly true, it does invalidate Bush's OTHER line of reasoning: That the NIE is still classified.
Dick Durbin is pissed, with good reason. This administration has argued for years now that they do not have to provide the NIE since it is still classified. The *only* way that the leak is legal is for the NIE to have been declassified.
One or the other is invalid. I can't wait to see which line they choose.
