LED graffiti: Stick your brightly lit message anywhere you can poke with a stick.

Site has annoying inline music and video, but is work-safe and the music video can be stopped easily enough.

I'm heavily vulnerable to the "ooooh, shiny" reflex, but the idea of scattering electronics components (and Lithium batteries! ack!) all over the place makes me really uncomfortable.

If they fall off, they'll get picked up by regular street cleanup, or can end up kicked into gutters and into the sewers, neither of which are good places to dispose of lithium/cobalt/all the other crap in batteries. If they end up in the street, they can get crushed, releasing all the chemicals that much quicker.

If some cranky building owner cleans it up, he's not likely to really consider the fact that it's hazardous waste, and if he does is REALLY not going to like the added expense of having to cart the graffiti off someplace for safe disposal.

This isn't even considering the possibility of idiot children/animals eating them (or at least chewing on them).

It's BRILLIANT (pun not intended), and I'm stealing the idea for any sci-fi games I run, but the idea being implemented in the real world makes me really unhappy.

"toxic", "stupid", "inconsiderate", and "gleefully damaging private property, secure in the knowledge that you will never produce or own anything anyone else notices long enough to destroy" are all attributes common to taggers.

They're useless wastes of oxygen, soylent green on the hoof.
