Yup. Bears can be funny like that.

There's one that hangs out near the house of a couple of my friends (they live on a rural, wooded property in the Cascade foothills: quite a few bears around there). Whenever it comes near the house, their two dogs go nuts and start barking and chase it away.

As one of my friends put it, "That bear hasn't figured out that she's bigger than the dogs yet. If she does, there'll be trouble."

The bear has taken to prowling on their neighbor's porch, so a ranger is trying to trap it and relocate it to a more isolated area.

My traditional reply to theweaselking's posts on cats have always been to insult the cat because, well, I hate them. This bear had a prime opportunity to wipe one of the little bastards off the planet permanantly and didn't take it. Hence my usual ("Stupid cat...") becomes more appropriate for the situaion.
