I was about to say, he looks totally Ditko.

Man, I really hope this series lasts long enough to do the famous Electro story with Spidey under a pile of machinary. I'm sure Raimi wants to to that.

Looks like they're going with the Venom angle (not that I'm saying Venom will be in *this* movie, per se). First hit iconic villains (Gobby and Ock), then go with the "money" villains, that the young kids recognize?

The only problem with the Spider-Man franchise is that...there are just so many damn villains to choose from. My brother and I had a discussion about this, and we're pretty certain that Spider-Man has more enemies than any other superhero (and most, if not all, teams!) in either of the two major comic book worlds.

How does he sleep at night? Or leave MJ alone? Jeez...

Venom is TOTALLY a hit iconic villain.

Even if he's only been around for half of Spidey's "lifetime".

Okay, yes, you're right.

I more meant "classic", perhaps - Doc Ock, Green Goblin, Rhino, Scorpion, Lizard - those guys.

I'll agree that Venom is also iconic, but in a much more modern sense. Hopefully I'm making more sense myself now. :-)
