The little one was eating it. I feel bad for the kids in the pic. It wouldn't surprise me if the younger ended up in the ER, and the kids more than likely got the and a beating for their parent's neglect.
Anyone who leaves their two kids, both under four, alone with an open can of paint deserves this.
You know, the more I look at this, the more it looks like they left them alone, with an open can of paint, and a TV showing (I presume) kids shows. Hard to tell with the paint on the screen.
I'm not sure what's worse, not supervising your kids, or thinking the TV will supervise them for you.
I've seen something to that extent once, except A. the child in question was supposedly napping in their crib, hence the extended absence, and B. the "paint" in question was harvested out of their own diaper, which is better in the responsibility sense but worse in the "oh gods" factor. ;)
at that point how can you even be mad? I'm sure there was anger on the parents part, but obviously if the kid is still smiling at the time of the picture they weren't that mad. I would have been upset about the tv but when you have kids...well you just can't have nice things ;p
The TV is the easiest thing in the room to clean. Getting paint off of glass is 5 minutes with a razor blade.
Getting enough surfuace area on your kids showing so that they don't go toxic is a little more difficult, and figuring out how much the little one ate are gonna be the real pains in the ass.
Depends on what kind of paint it is. We aren't talking oils here. Chances are it's basic flat indoor paint which shouldn't be toxic considering you put it on your walls.
& Most things ingested can be cured with milk & a quick trip to the doctors. I've even found out they have a poision control for animals when my cat got a face full of terpentine while my husband was painting.
Not in small amounts, at least. I still don't think it's likely to be good for you to eat.
Anyway, the TV is likely to be both cheaper to replace and easier to clean than the *leather couch* next to it.
OTOH, assuming this is standard housepaint, that's watersoluble for quite a long time post application, so copious buckets should allow you to get it reasonably clean.
Mabey the family will be lucky, and that isn't actually paint, it is either children's paste, (which stays white for a good half hour) or like the funny liquit sidewalk chalk, so it will dry and brush off... Unfortunatly I think my kids could have done that much mess in the five minutes I spent in the bathroom, or with my back to them cooking.
Someone obviously had to take a picture of their kid smiling in this mess -- he doesn't have the 'OH SHIT! Mom's gonna kill me!' look on his face, an NO PARENT in her right mind wouldn't say, "Aw, my living room is DESTROYED! Say cheese, honey!"
Maybe the parents are divorced and this is one parent's revenge?
