[SCENE: A police station. A MAN is walking in. He seems agitated. He moves to speak to the OFFICER ON DUTY.]

MAN: I would like to file a formal complaint about one of your detectives!

OFFICER: Very well, why is that?

MAN: He came to my house late at night. He was rude and abusive towards me, he barged in without permission and without a warrant, and wouldn't leave when asked to do so.

OFFICER: We can't act without proof, since it's your word against his. Do you have any proof?

MAN: Yes, this videotape, from the home security cameras which are clearly visible, only record the inside of my apartment, have warning signs posted around the place, and about which I specifically told the officer, clearly shows the entire incident!

OFFICER: You're under arrest for recording a police officer committing a crime, without his permission!

This is Nashua, New Hamshire.

USA, man. This would be laughed at in Canada, and inspire fucking *riots* if the cops seriously tried it.

Sadly, it doesn't surprise me. It follows from what we've heard about the PATRIOT ACT.

Police reported that Gannon “has a history of being verbally abusive” toward police, and that after his arrest, he remarked that the officers “were a bunch of corrupt (expletives).”

If you don't want to be called corrupt, don't act it.

Oy. Vey.

Illegal? To have a security camera on your own property? And apparently legal to have the police bar you from your own property without writ or warrant?

They need their rumps kicked from here to next June.

Yeah, those security cameras, bought off-the-shelf at the local Wal-Mart, are *totally* illegal.
