Wow! A toaster that actually thinks it can burn the bread I eat? Nah. I bet 'defrost' and 'cancel' are the same, and 'bludgeon' is really 'defrost'. 'Bagel' probably just gives you a beeping noise until you fill it with forks or something.
You CAN toast bagels if you cut them in half, first.
I personally prefer not to - I reheat frozen bagels in the microwave because it makes them soft and chewy and fresh-like again, then add the cheese or meat or whatever I'm putting on it and eat that, but I LIKE bready bagels over toasted crunchy bagels.
Wow. I remeber eating my only bagel now! It was blue, and tasted of sugar. I didn't like it much. Probably haven't eaten them since because all the bread I eat comes from The Italian Baker (http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/0061812668/104-9530355-8337503?v=glance&n=283155). Not so many bagels in Italy.
I supposed it could have been a blueberry bagel, but it seems more amusing to think you might have just been noshing on a gargantuan mutant Froot Loop.
