I thought "hijab" was a generic term for the practice of concealing the female form to prevent it from inciting lust, not a specific garment.

From my vaguely remembered early religious study classes it's actually the technical term for "decent covering" for both males and females. For males, however, it only covers the area between the belly button and the knees.

I don't know if "the hijab" is now the name for whatever they wear. The Turkish name for it literally translates to "sheets," as in bed sheets.

In the meantime, she plugged unashamedly, if you want a holiday in that area where you can drink, scuba-dive, and wear swimsuits, there's always Turkey...

Believe me, it's tempting.

I think my next overseas trip is gonig to be somewhere in the south Pacfic, though. My sister lives in New Zealand and keeps bugging me to come visit.

Hm. Given the choice of a free vacation to Saudi Arabia and staying home, I'd stay home.

That's why you go to Dubai instead of Saudi Arabia.

Especially since the only things in Saudi Arabia worth actually visiting, Mecca and Medina, are strictly off-limits.
