No, they got killed for killing a human.

But yes. Poor dogs.

Well, arguably, killing a human is "being a wolf". That's perfectly valid behavior from the point of view of the animals.

And, technically, they probably were killed for being wolves rather than dogs. If that pen had been full of Dobermans, would they have still immediately euthanized them to go in and retrieve the body?

Wolves don't usually kill humans - and killing a bad-tasting monkey who brings food and water? That's not wolf behaviour.

If that pen had been full of Dobermans, would they have still immediately euthanized them to go in and retrieve the body?

Yes.

I'd find it very likely. Seeing as if a dog bites a human to say nothing of killing them they euthanis the animal with consent from the family/victim(s).

Wild wolves don't view humans as prey, no.

However, she wasn't prey, she was part of their pack. One of the endearing things about wolves is that they treat human pack members exactly like lupine pack members. Clearly she slipped or fell, showed some weakness -- and they kicked her ass. If she'd been a wolf, she might have survived the asskicking (more fur to protect her). It was nothing personal. It was something they would have done to each other, if one of the other wolves had shown the same weakness.

And yeah, you're probably right about the Dobermans.

Shit like this reminds me that people need to remember that wolves are fucking wolves.

Hell, coyotes are fucking coyotes. You can't mess around with undomesticated animals just because you think they're cute/noble/spiritual or you think you're a big bad man.

It's just stupid. A woman in Ohio had to blast two wolves with a shotgun yesterday because they got out of her neighbor's pen and three of them were circling her. The guy has also owned bobcats and racoons. So bright.

You know, I'm convinced that had someone as stupid as that were to "train" pure dogs you'd be getting the same problem.

It's possible, and I would say it depends on the breed.

But wolves are still wolves.

It seems like every month or so I get the joy of being ashamed about the state I live in.

With global warming it's very tempting to move to the bay up there and set up the next resort.

I could make a ton I would just have to figure out where the water line would be and build where the beach WILL be.

Oh. plus it would be really cool since all of the nice people live up there.
