This is largely a test of logjam working on my laptop.
Anyone know how of a good way to get a MS Visual Basic program to compile and run for Ubuntu, without my having to download every last compiler in the libraries, without knowing anything about any of them, and trying them one after another? Yes, I have the source code for the program.

I *could* just use the app on my desktop and put the output on my laptop, but that's less than optimal.
All I really want is to run it on Ubuntu. I really don't care if I have to translate it to C first, except that I don't want to manually rewrite it, since it's a big program, written by an amateur, that was up past version 3 when he stopped developing it. It's not a pretty sight when you look under the hood.
