Cool pics! On the subject of locks, I also have pictures of two of Belgium's locks, if anyone is curious:

I apologize for the less than perfect quality, but those pictures were shot in below-freezing temperatures. I had trouble holding the camera steady. :-)

That is one of the coolest lift locks I've ever seen.

And it uses about 1.5 kWs to turn the wheel, fully laden(about the same amount of power to boil about 8 kettles of water).
