Wal-Marts in Germany hold 'Singles Fridays'

Imagine this for a moment.

You're single, and you're desperate enough to spend a Friday night looking to pick up *Wal-Mart* shoppers. Would *you* want to hook up with, well, you?

I cannot think of a place where I'm more likely to meet repulsive mental defects with open, running sores, except perhaps a professional wrestling house show.

Yikes.

I do not think that you quite understand the central focus point that Wal-Mart has in MANY, MANY small towns' lives. Wal-Mart is often the ONLY gathering place, outside of the local church, in a given 60-100 mile radius.

I am not at all surprised at this. And I bet it's the same in Germany, unless this is in, you know, Berlin.

The people quoted are complaining that they couldn't pick up in clubs or bars.

This implies that clubs and bars exist.

I also direct you to Mike Hoye's rant about Wal-Mart. It's very, very true. It's also archived and inaccessible because his blog's links are broken.

Well, then I shouldn't have any trouble finding it at all, should i?

You could bug Mike about it. I'm going to.

Foolish Mike, saying things worth reading and then hiding them away.

And not saying them here.

His blog is great for what it is, but for day to day silliness, he really should join us here.
