"Ohs my goedel! they's nekkid!! Oh the humanity, too much humanity!!! How dare you expose my children to so much humanity??"
Y'know, these parents should be going to sleep every night afraid their children might one day discover they're naked under their clothing. Of course if they realized that themselves, they might be afraid to go to bed too.
Say what you will about other systemic issues with american society, but I can't help but thing this sort of behavior stems from a pandemic lack of exposure to art. The whole point of art is to shock people into thinking, whether it is through beauty or through the grotesque. For that shock to turn into fear only underscores the point of the whole exercise. Though I fear only the artists and curators might understand that.
