American Family Association demands boycott of all Proctor & Gamble products because P&G has said it "will not tolerate discrimination in any form, against anyone, for any reason."

The specific issue that brought this to a head is P&G's donation of $10 000 to an organisation dedicated to repealing an article of the Cincinnatti city charter that forbids the enaction of any law preventing descrimination against homosexuals, and forbids any claim by homosexuals under current discrimination laws.

Soldiers in the US Army with only a short time left in their term of service are being told to re-enlist with a contract that will keep them in the Army and stateside until 2008, or they will be deployed immediately to Iraq for a year (regardless of whether or not their hitch is up in less than a year) after which time they will most likely be retained in the Army for three to four more years - whether they like it or not - due to a stop-loss order.

Basically, it's "Re-enlist voluntarily or you'll be sent to Iraq and then re-enlisted forcibly."

World's Youngest Mother was...

Drum roll, please...

Five years old.

"Lina Medina's parents thought their 5-year-old daughter had a huge abdominal tumor and when shamans in their remote village in Peru's Andes could find no cure, her father carried her to a hospital.

Just over a month later, she gave birth to a boy."

Snopes adds: "Lina's incredible story was documented in contemporaneous reports by Edmundo Escomel, one of Peru's preeminent physician-researchers of the period and a laureate of the prestigious French Academy of Sciences.

At the end of his piece Escomel noted with some sadness that no one had yet discovered the identity of the father since Lina 'couldn't give precise responses.'"

He was 10 years old before he learned that the girl he knew as his sister was actually his mother.
