Someone on Presidential hopeful John McCain's staff is going to be in trouble today. They used a well known template to create his Myspace page. The template was designed by Newsvine Founder and CEO Mike Davidson (original template is here). Davidson gave the template code away to anyone who wanted to use it, but asked that he be given credit when it was used, and told users to host their own image files.

McCain's staff used his template, but didn't give Davidson credit. Worse, he says, they use images that are on his server, meaning he has to pay for the bandwidth used from page views on McCain's site.

And we all know what that means, right?

That's right! Replacing the hotlinked images with more interesting fare! In this case, an announcement!

"Dear Supporters: Today I announce that I have reversed my position and come out in full support of gay mariage… particularly marriage between two passionate females. John"

Brooklyn school janitor released, all charges dropped, after prosecutors realise that the 8-year-old girl who accused him of rape is lying.

It gets better: She first accused a fellow student but couldn't describe him, name him, or give any details. Then she claimed she was raped by her father. Then she claimed she was raped by a white adult stranger. Then the janitor in question, who is neither a student, nor her father, nor white, walked in, and she claimed he did it. Of course, her mother encourages her and supports her through every story change and contradiction.

So he's arrested, dragged out of school in handcuffs, and thrown into the general population at Riker's Island Prison for a few days after all the other inmates are told he's a child rapist. He's interrogated by police who tell him they have incontrovertible DNA evidence that he's guilty, and threatened by prison guards and prisoners alike.

In the end, the DAs realise that a girl with a LONG HISTORY OF FALSE RAPE ACCUSATIONS who can't keep her story straight and for whom there is no evidence of her ever having been raped, and whose story involves a protracted rape in the most heavily trafficked area of the school, was probably not raped, and release the janitor.

Bonus: The principal of the school has been fired because he didn't believe the girl when her story kept changing and contradicting itself.

A man has been taken to hospital in Australia after his penis and groin got caught in the machinery at a saw mill.

The Adelaide Advertiser reports that the accident is not thought to have had life-threatening consequences, but that there was a degree of uncontrollable bleeding involved.

The thirty-year-old man was taken to the Royal Adelaide Hospital.

A spokesman for Parafield Gardens Saw Mill said: 'He got caught in the log moving mechanism on one of the saws.'

The spokesman maintained that the man's injuries were not serious. Which is easy for him to say.
