Canadian politics!
Jun. 10th, 2014 10:50 amShorter Torontoist: We're endorsing the Liberals because they're incompetent, but at least they aren't campaigning on a deliberate plan of trashing the place like the other two are.
Some of the comments are pretty good, too. I'm particularly fond of pithy responses to idiots who say they want Tim "Day 1: burn the province to the ground and salt the earth" Hudak as an alternative because they're "disgusted" with the liberals. Example:
"That chili upset my tummy. No more chili for me! I’ll take a chance on this dish of tire rims and anthrax."
We're still a first-past-the-post hellhole - if you want to check polls in your riding to figure out which parties are available in your riding, this isn't bad. Remember, *strategic* voting is the only thing that matters. A vote for the NDP in a 40% PC, 40% LIB riding is a wasted vote, as is a vote for LIB in a 40/40 PC/NDP riding. A vote for Green is *always* a wasted vote, everywhere. And there's some ridings (like mine) where all votes are wasted - my riding is so "safe" that nobody runs real candidates, not even the guys it's safe for. But looking at the polls can tell you which party is most likely to run a real candidate next time with a few more votes, so vote that one.
