Because, after all, the law is what the President says it is, screw what's actually written on those silly "paper" things that people "voted" on and "passed"
Oh, and Ashcroft's replacement's record is not so good, either: Advocate of torture and concealment of torture, counsel for Enron, got Bush out of jury duty so he wouldn't have to admit having a drunk driving conviction in an election year...
