You didn't describe it as such, but for some reason "Lovecraftian" comes to mind when looking at this.
Which is odd, because most pictures billed as Lovcraftian evoke a response of "eh" in me. This one though does make me think of some strange creature working with the strands of space-time, resulting in our doom.
o.O Cthulhu toiled day an night, plucking at the very threads of our reality. Space and time began to bend backwards, and fold over on themselves as Cthulhu wove his tapestry of chaos. The universe quivered at his vile touch and then as true realization dawned on it the stars wept, for Cthulhu's toiled not to undo the fabric of reality, but to ensure it stayed, securely fastened to his foot, keeping his shoes from falling off. And lo the universe wept all the harder as the future was laid out before it; ever bound to the extremities of the Cthulhu.
