The No-Prize: An award for concisely, concretely explaining why blatant continuity failures and nonsensical occurences *really do* make perfect sense after all, when you look at them from the right direction.

Keith Martin goes for it by explaining Star Wars: A New Hope in retrospect with the idiotic prequels.

I always knew R2 was the real hero of the Rebellion.

But I think we all knew that Han was the 'giver' in the relationship.

OhmyGod.

That was B-list Mary Sue fanfic.

Although, as I have said in the past, when you use the right lense to view those movies, they're really good. it'sjust not the lends they were filmed with.

For example, if Anakin is using jedi mind tricks to influence padme into thinking she's in love with him, then their whole romance actually makese sense. It's a great idea. that george lucas never had a day in his life. Because, apparently, he hasn't seen a movie since Jedi came out.

Wait.

There's A-list Mary Sue fanfic?

Sure. Anytime your mary sue does it with harry potter, that's certainly a-list.

I suppose insertion is the next step down. fanfic about a character who never existed in the first place.

See, I saw this as a work of comedy, not fanfic.

It is a work of comedy, but if one were to take it seriously, it would be fanfic.

I actually think it's funny and it touched on random ideas that I've had for a while. What's nice is that he does indeed point out huge logic gaps created by lucas's lack of a cohesive plot. And I rather like what he fills them with.

Imagine running a 3 year long rpg and then trying to run tjhe prequel using a lot of the same characters. You'd contradict yourself left and right.

With a script, you could do it, because you could analyze the facts, but not with a game. Which leads me to believe that george lucas just made up most of that shit off the top of his head without really giving it much scrutiny.

And despite everything, THAT is a more amusing read than the three prequels combined.

How does one read a movie?

I have trouble hearing out my right ear and serious trouble distinguishing dialogue from music in a lot of movies; I watch most movies subtitled when I can.

That was waaaay too convincing. R2 is indeed everywhere in the movies, and it explains way too much about Chewie that's not talked about in RotS, including his friendship with Yoda. It's either the ultimate Looney Theory, or the real back story in the gap between Star Wars 3 and 4.

beautiful.

now if the'd only filmed that prequel instead of the bullshit we saw in Ep 1-3, Star Wars would still be worth something.
