Movie Review: Premonition. A competently-executed horror/thriller, about a woman living a week of her life out of order. A rather important week of her life, being that the first day of her week is Thursday, and at noon she is informed that her husband has died in a car accident. Then she wakes up and it's Monday. Now she has to figure out if she's crazy or not, and what she can do about the events of the future. If that sounds like the kind of movie you think you'd like, then call it moderately recommended: It's a reasonable nonoffensive take on the premise. If that doesn't grab you immediately, skip it, or watch it on video.

Product Review: Innis & Gunn Oak-Aged Beer. It's Edinburgh ale that's brewed, then aged in whiskey casks. It tastes about like you might expect: Like a smooth ale with a strong whiskey flavouring, with no aftertaste at all. Highly recommended.

Play Review: Hairspray. Live at the NAC, we have music, singing, dancing, the 1960s, and a costar who really wishes she was Alyson Hannigan and that's not a bad thing. The best part of the show was still one of the actors ad-libbing and cracking another up onstage, hilariously.

Weekend review: and now I'm watching Jason Alexander try to think up new ways to call William Shatner fat. That's my whole weekend, right there. It's been relaxing.

I&G: Yes, a nice and quite unique ale. I generally prefer lagers/pilsners, but this is good stuff. Strong, too, by the way; Bud Light it ain't.

It's only about 6.5%. Quite tasty, though.

I generally prefer ale to lager - less taste of yeast.
