The bloody stupid CD drive started working as soon as I manually told it to go looking for the drive on the SCSI bus. Have I mentioned recently how much I hate Fedora?

Speaking of hate, remember the tainted pet food? After a second instance, it appears that the chemical added to the food was done so *deliberately* by the Chinese producers, to produce a false-positive test for having more protein than it really does.

You know, I caught a story today--couldn't tell you where, though--which suggested that some of that tainted food may have reached human consumption...veggie burgers and the like. Apparently it's rice gluten and corn gluten as well as wheat gluten, or whichever. So it's possible that people will get sick, or worse, due to what may have been deliberately-tainted Chinese pet food.

And while it's truly horrible...is this starting to sound like a Law & Order episode to anyone else?

Rice and corn does not have gluten.

Hill's has already updated its website concerning rice gluten and claims that its products which contain rice gluten get it from a different source.

Which is good, I guess. They don't state who their suppliers actually are, which looks like a CYA move to me.

Hate the numbnuts who thought it was a good idea to use Fedora in a production environment.

As soon as you can, replace it with something corporate-ready.

Like RHEL?

It should be entertaining to note that I've had nothing but resounding success with RHEL in corporate production, primarily in migrating crap off Slowaris.

RHEL seems like it would be just fine, if not-free. I'm just really tired of the obsolete Fedora box.

That reminds me, I should upgrade my RH7.1 server soon.
