It's what you write on the head of the golem. When you delete the aleph, the golem dies because the word is no longer "truth", it's "he is dead"

אמת is "emeth", meaning truth; it's what's written on the forehead of a golem to bring it to life. If you rub out the aleph, you get מת, meaning "he is dead", and the golem collapses into a lump of clay.

(It was a bunch of bitterness generally tied into the Golem of Prague, the establishing of ghettos, and my readiness to give up on any thought, sense, or constructive act coming from Bush.
