I'd say this is a subject on which all reasonable people - here defined as the set of people who can see what's wrong with lighting a train of gunpowder in cuts in your own flesh - can be just as judgemental as they like. There comes a point when 'your kink is OK' no longer works because what is going on is objectively stupid. These people are so far past that point they can't poke it with a long stick.
On the subject of Warren Ellis, you posted "Fing Fang Foom put you in his PANTS" many moons ago, but Google fails me in digging it up from your blog, or from teh intarwubs. Do you still have that? I need to show it to someone who doesn't believe me :D
