I'm making a CD. It has a theme. I need songs that fit the theme.

What I have:

Johnny Cash - The Man Comes Around
Rolling Stones - Sympathy For The Devil
Nick Cave And The Bad Seeds - Red Right Hand
Traditional - The Devil Went Down To Georgia

I'm sure you can see my pattern, now. What else needs to go on this CD?

And no, "Satan Gave Me A Taco" doesn't fit.

Hmm... Might not fit exactly, but how about a chunk of Mike Oldfield's Tubular Bells. Featured prominently on the Exorscist sound track. AC/DC's Highway to Hell would be another possibility. Please post the final comp list when you're done. Be interested to see what you come up with.

The thing about Highway To Hell is that it's not about the devil taking personal action in the real world, preferably in a more subtle way than "Kaboom, I blow shits up now". The others are.

I'm wondering about Motley Crue's "Hell On High Heels" - it almost fits, except for being a good deal brighter and happier than the other four.

Well, if you were looking for a Crue song, Shout at the Devil would be a good choice.

Devil And Daughter - Black Sabbath
Devil's Island - Megadeth
Highway To Hell by AC/DC (maybe--I like it anyway)
Hell's Bells by AC/DC

Absolutely seconding this. When you've just heard "Symphony" and "Devil went down" you need "Beelzeboss".

With varying degrees of success:

Morrissey - Satan Rejected My Soul

Elvis - Devil in Disguise

Eagles - Hotel California (maybe, maybe not)

DMX - Damien

You could also opt to include the Primus version of Charlie Daniels "Devil Went Down to Georgia" if you don't mind cover tunes and/or repeated songs.

Then, of course, there's Satan's song from the South Park movie, but "Up There" is designed to be more Disney-ish on purpose (think Little Mermaid).

I agree with Tenacious D, even if it part of it is a "tribute" to Devil Went Down to Georgia.

Oh, there's also Stephen Lynch - Beelz. VERY funny, but might not be entirely appropriate for a more serious-minded song compilation. Highlights: "And f*ck Charlie Daniels, I don't care if you can fiddle..." and "this is f*cking b*llsh*t because I would not be caught dead in... Georgia...."

Pretty sad that with all the PMRC and related people bitching about heavy metal being all Satanic in the '80s, I can't really think of much else that's outright evil/devil related off the top of my head. -_-

Let The Devil In by TV On The Radio
The Devil by The Rapture
Mogwai Fear Satan by Mogwai (quite long, wordless, so probably not)
Satan Said Dance by Clap Your Hands Say Yeah

Definitely needs to go on:

Devil In Her Heart by The Beatles

Eagles of Death Metal have a few Satan/Hell songs, my favorite being 'Kiss the Devil.'

Also (some of these are quite silly):
Neil Sadaka: Little Devil
Jenny Lewis & the Watson Twins: Run Devil Run
INXS: Devil Inside
Holly Golightly & the Brokeoff: Devil Do
Future Clouds & Radar: Devil No More
Squirrel Nut Zippers: Hell
Danko Jones: Home to Hell

And I can't think of any, but Tom Waits seems like someone who would have Satan-related songs.

Half the blues songs ever written.

...okay, okay, I can be more helpful than that:

Hellhound on My Trail
Blue Spirit Blues
Crossroad Blues (Clapton's version is quite good)
Me and the Devil Blues
Devil Got My Woman

Robert Johnson did most of these.

This doesn't strictly fit your theme, I think, but when I saw the list I thought of "Redemption Day", by Sheryl Crow.
