The police officer in question has tapes that show that the homophobic Republican offered him $20 if he (the homophobic Republican) could suck his (the cop's) dick.

Well, the article made it look like this cop walked around asking people for money and oral sex, which is not conductive to keeping one's job around here. But perhaps the newspaper is friendly to the Republican?
