Ah, yes, the wonders of the Republican party line.

That link's to the Google Cache, because the site has dropped the article in the wake of, well, the article.

An excerpt:
If [Bush] copied Julius Caesar by ordering his army to empty Iraq of Arabs and repopulate the country with Americans, he would achieve immediate results: popularity with his military; enrichment of America by converting an Arabian Iraq into an American Iraq (therefore turning it from a liability to an asset); and boost American prestiege while terrifying American enemies.

He could then follow Caesar's example and use his newfound popularity with the military to wield military power to become the first permanent president of America, and end the civil chaos caused by the continually squabbling Congress and the out-of-control Supreme Court.

[Bush] can fail in his duty to himself, his country, and his God, by becoming “ex-president” Bush or he can become “President-for-Life” Bush: the conqueror of Iraq, who brings sense to the Congress and sanity to the Supreme Court. Then who would be able to stop Bush from emulating Augustus Caesar and becoming ruler of the world? For only an America united under one ruler has the power to save humanity from the threat of a new Dark Age wrought by terrorists armed with nuclear weapons.
Two things: Google the author, he's serious. His autobiography shows some really impressive powers of self-delusion.

Also google Family Security Matters themselves, who are a front group for the Center For Security Policy, who are run by none other than one Dick Cheney.

I'm just saying...

It's bad when in the opening 2 lines of the article you find misinformation:

"President George W. Bush is the 43rd President of the United States. He was sworn in for a second term on January 20, 2005 after being chosen by the majority of citizens in America to be president."

Actually, the first is a heavily contested statement which stems directly from the second. To whit, how can one be the President of the United States when one has not been duly elected as such? And to be elected, one must receive enough votes. (Though not, necessarily, by the majority of the public. A salient fact to note as it is debatable that even if Bush did win it is debatable that he won with the votes of "the majority of citizens in America")

Gah, redundancy. I feel so ashamed.

Although, considering the current government's reliance on redundant stupidity...

But I shouldn't rant on someone else's journal.

Oh, come on in and rant.

And Bush got into office the second time when a majority of *votes recorded* said he should be. This is far, far, far different from a majority of votes actually cast, let alone a majority of Americans. The vast majority of Americans didn't vote at all.

In fairness to a Republican Party that has, yes, gone batshit insane, they'd never (openly) take this line.

A fact and a question.
