So.

[livejournal.com profile] harald387 bailed on me after no sleep. I woke him up at 8:30 AM by ringing his doorbell and giving him an armchair. For some reason, this did not persuade him to help me carry stuff.

[livejournal.com profile] aimisdirty no-showed completely. He's a jerk...

...but Frances and [livejournal.com profile] zenten and Ian showed up to help lift heavy stuff.

So I bought them all lunch, and we carried lots of stuff, and I have my wonderful new apartment with furniture and my bed and stuff. I set up my bed as my #1 priority, but haven't even made sure that my carefully coddled computer survived the trip. Well, then, I hear you asking, how am I posting this?

The answer is simple. Since I've been up since 6AM and lifting heavy stuff all day long, it's now 9 PM and I'm AT WORK! Until 8AM tomorrow morning![1]

Stay tuned to LiveWeaselRadio, all night long, as I get progressively lower on sleep and higher on caffeine!

It's going to be a fun trip.

John

[1]: Gotta love my job. Office job, Monday -> Friday, 9ish->5ish - except *THIS* weekend. This weekend, I had to come in on Saturday for a four-hour shift. Just Saturday, for just 4 hours, in midafternoon - and for some stupid reason[2], I traded shifts to get a pair of overnights instead. Starting on moving day.

[2]: Said stupid reason being the coworker's wife's birthday and irrefundable tickets, since we were all told we'd have one shift *during the day* on the weekend, and he was the single unlucky guy to get saddled with the marketing chimp's requirement of an "extra overnight guy" for the opening weekend's events. As an incidental aside, I am making mad corporate go-to-guy brownnoser points and he owes me, big time.

Phone is on ringer if you need a lift. Just make sure you email me directions before you become too loopy. Saying the HP building in Kanata is uselss since I have no clue where that is in Kanata and, you know, yuppies in little Russia scare me.

Get on 417. Go west. Get off at March/Eagleson, take a right at the lights onto March North. Stay in the right lane. When the right lane ends by turning onto Herzberg, go with it. It's the giant blue building on your left labelled "Hewlett Packard" and with the acres of parking lot space.

I also have direct instructions from my boss to sleep on the job if necessary. I love my job.
