Is it bad of me that I think that judge is a bit of an asshole for giving all of those families such false hope? I hope he explained to them how unlikely it is they will ever see any of the compensation he's promised them.

Except the US has seized enough Iranian assets in the name of "halting the funding of terrorism" that the families could easily petition the US government to be paid out of those seizures.
