For cases where it's an LJ cut and he doesn't specify that you need to click twice, I cunningly use the "hand" at the end of my "arm" to prevent seeing the image.

Normally you have a second layer of "Don't Click It" protection. Personally, I always do just because the depths to which various bits of humanity (we'll use the word loosely here) will sink is interesting, if sometimes disturbing, to me.
