Oh dear gods...

Who, exactly, do I have to sacrifice to get an intelligent, competent president?

maybe I should go hide until this is all over...

You would have to sacrifice someone symbolic. Something very symbolic. When you want to appease the dark gods, you sacrifice a holy paladin. If you want to appease the political gods to be sent competence in the administration, then... you'll probably have to ressurrect Ronald Reagan's corpse. And then sacrifice it. Perhaps even bring it back to life and sacrifice it again. And then a couple of pharma lobbyists for good measure.

Wait a minute there; just stop and think.

Do you *really* want a competent President?

Someone who thinks they know best *and* can get it done?

The idea of sacrificing all those who can't has a certain appeal.

As opposed to the utterly incompetent alternative? ...Yeah, sure, why not.

Dang. I was hoping that was *Rick* Mercer for president.

-- Steve'd vastly prefer reading Rick over whats-his-face.

Ps: with all that talk of discipline, the dude must be bottoming for someone.

It never even occurred to me until I clicked through that Rick Mercer can't run for President, being Canadian. And then I was disappointed, both by my own brainfart and that it is *not* Rick. *sigh*

Rick Mercer was my first thought, too, and I figured that would be great.

I can't process a single sentence on that page. Am I the only one?

He mentions something about Education a couple times, but I don't think he can have had much experience with it. That, or the standard of education and literacy in the States really IS sliding...

Perhaps, but there's clearly a host of other things going on there, including a massive case of paranoia the likes of which I didn't think existed outside of Hollywood.

I wasn't even able to understand that much. Clearly your powers of perception far surpass my own.

There were words. The words had meaning. But they didn't mean anything together, that I could tell.

You know, back when the WWW was young and small, there was Mahir.

If the sheer size of the WWW today did not make it impossible, I would nominate Lee Mercer for the next Mahir.

The very, very masochistic part of me wants to learn the details of a Criminal Law developed from a Method of Education. But that part is really, really tiny.
