You've missed the point. The "Dramatic Chipmunk" is not a chipmunk, but it is known as the dramatic chipmunk now thanks to that video clip, so the meme is now out there to deliberately refer to prairie dogs as chipmunks.
Much like saying "I (verbed) you a (noun) but I eated it" or "Im in ur (noun), (verbing) your (plural noun)", despite being grammatically atrocious.
