Pretty girl, but my acrophobia would kill the moment.

My acrophobia is pretty much under control: I don't have an unreasonable fear of heights anymore. I do, however, have a healthy regard for the hazards of aging concrete, altitude, and the surprising movements of a partner.

Wonder where it was taken... I'm betting somewhere tropical, in damaged buildings abandoned by all but the most desperate and, as in this case, foolhardy.

I suspect Russians.

Those trees don't look tropical, in any case.

Is true; that and the preponderance of Russian photos on LJ makes me change my bet.

They look like fir trees all that way below, and abandoned buildings of that style are, I think, relatively common in Russia, so I'd bet that's where they are.

But definitely not tropical.

I also suspect Russia. But could be anywhere in former Soviet Eastern Europe, judging from the architecture and the trees.

In which case I *really* wouldn't trust that aging concrete. Having been in old buildings like that in Latvia, and hearing stories from relatives who have lived in them, they are really, really shoddily made.

His arms is real tense too. He's like 'hey I love you an all but just kiss me so we can get off this damn bit of concrete already.'

Now that you mention it, this looks like a shoop. The oulines around his arm and head, and her whole body looks wrong. His shirt sleeve is also sagging the wrong way, though that could be wind.

...I'm not seeing the outlines, but I think you may be right. His right hand looks odd (both held/clenched oddly and blurrier than the concrete and her jeans), and if the wind was blowing (up?) hard enough to hang his T-shirt sleeve that way, I'd expect it to affect her hair, too.

Ah, finally. I'm glad someone pointed that out. I saw the same hand deformity that Torrain did, like the finger tips had been chopped off and the skin re-painted.

I'm reading it more as his hand is curled shut around something, but can't imagine what.

(Hmh. Maybe he actually *is* on that, and they just 'shopped out the safety harness whose straps he is holding onto for dear life? But the T-shirt sleeve still looks odd.)

It looks an awful lot like the Bank I used to work at in Bratislova. The bank was okay but the right next to it was a lot where construction had been stopped in mid-stream and all the buildings looked a lot like that. Note how narrow that one building looks. The bank was only about 50 - 60 feet (at most and I think I'm being generous) wide and several hundred feet long. And I think 10 - 15 stories tall. (Its been 11 years and I don't remember as well as I should.)

Hi. I've been watching pics in your journal for awhile and decided to register so that i could comment and provide for translations from Russian when needed.

I don't see anything particularly Russian on this pic, however, given that two Caucasians and incompleted building are on the picuture, I agree that it is likely came from here.

My second guess is that this building was apparently intended for temporary living of people (hotel, hospital or something like that): you can see that it should have had balconies, but they are located too tight to one another for a usual apartment building.

I have it, though I haven't figured how I can attach it to the comment. I also think it was posted in this journal.
