Afterward, he reportedly told authorities he might have smoked PCP beforehand, but was unsure.

This is why they tell you not to rely on pepper spray in self-defense classes.

There are people who carry it around like it's a good-luck charm or something, and don't even learn how to use it. Bah.

Exactly. I wouldn't rely on it to be anything other than a distraction.

Hell, my buddy rwx got pepper-sprayed multiple times while protesting the WTO in 1999. I took him home, he took a shower, and we went out for Mexican food.
