*blink* How odd, I just (as in like 10 minutes ago) finished reading the first volume of the annotated Sherlock Holmes, where one of my complaints is that the editor plays "the game" as they call it, and treats Holmes and Watson as if they were alive. Which is fine in, say, a newsgroup discussion or something, but in an annotated book? Not so much. -_-
