The best part is the look on Gollum's face from your previous post just as I realize what the hell this thing is. Now that's 'slash' fiction!

The "How To" diagram really seals the deal... saves you that embarassment of not know where to shove the thing.

Because, of course, who among us has NOT gotten the Deer Anus Remover home and then thought "Damn, I just have no idea where this goes!"

Is this a commonly used tool? And if so, by whom, and why?

Apparently it actually *is* called the "Butt-Out," and can be yours for only $9.99 (http://www.cabelas.com/prod-1/0041414228322a.shtml)! It's for hunters, to be used in dressing a carcass. It seems to me to be one of those not-really-necessary items, like an apple slicer widget, but then again I'm not the one out in the field trying to cut the asshole out of a deer.

Why....why is anus removal a necessary step in the process of dressing a deer? *boggles*

I *think* it's necessary in order to sever the entire collected chain of internal organs from the hide, so that you can remove them from the carcass, thus making it weigh less and also less likely to result in poisoned meat.

. . . I refuse to entertain any other possibilities, because they are scary.

Someone's using this right now, outside of its prescribed hunting/field-dressing setting. And they're enjoying the hell out of it.
